Please divine presence
Transform my heart into a precious jewelled vehicle of love,
That is powerful, yet tendre
Immanating, yet receptive
Generating, yet humble enough to be molded by your hands
May I joyfully be of service.

Prayer of the Navaho Indians
I will be happy forever
Nothing will hinder me
I walk in beauty
Beauty before me,
Beauty behind me,
Beauty below me,
Beauty besides me,
Beauty within me.

When God’s generosity flooded existence,
I was fashioned,
And since the most ancient of times,
I was bestowed upon the teachings of love.
Then from the elements and ingredients of my heart.
God has made the key
That unlocks the treasure of all meaning.

If you open yourself to the Tao,
you are one with the Tao
and you can embody it completely.
If you open yourself to insight,
you are one with insight
and you can use it completely.
If you open yourself to loss,
you are one with loss
and you can accept it completely.
Open yourself to the Tao,
then trust your natural responses;
and everything will fall into place.
Lao Tzu

Correcting oneself is correcting the whole world.
The Sun is simply bright. It does not correct anyone.
Because it shines, the whole world is full of light.
Transforming yourself is a means of giving light to the whole world.

Willingness to experience aloneness
I discover connection everywhere
Turning my face to fear
I meet the warrior who lives within
Opening to my loss
I gain the embrace of the universe
Surrendering into emptiness
I find fullness without end.
Each condition I flee from, pursues me
Each condition I welcome, transforms me
And becomes itself transformed
Into its radiant jewel like essence
I bow to the one
Who has made it so
Who has crafted this master game.
To play it, is purest delight
To honor its form
True devotion.

'There is a place in the heart where everything meets.
Go there if you want to find me.
Mind, senses, soul, eternity, all are there.
Are you there?
Enter the bowl of vastness that is the heart.
Give yourself to it with total abandon.
Quiet ecstasy is there -
and a steady, regal sense of resting in a perfect spot.
Once you know the way
the nature of attention will call you
to return, again and again,
and be saturated with knowing,
“I belong here, I am at home here.”
Answer that call.

Prayer of the Christ
May the divine source descend upon us a table of sustenance and nournishment from heaven, that will be a feast for the first of us and for the last of us. And may it bestow upon us goodness and sustenance, for you and only you is the best of givers.

Notice how each particle moves
Notice how everyone has just arrived here from a journey
Notice how each one is a different food
Notice how the stars vanish as the sun comes up
And how all the streams stream towards the ocean
Look at the cooks preparing special plates for everyone according to what they need.
Look at this cup that can hold the ocean
Look at those who see the face
Look through Shams eyes into the water that is entirely jewels.

“From the highest spheres of existence, has descended upon you a dove, She descended unwillingly, and if she was given a choice she would have chosen to stay, to be in the highest of spheres with the highest of companions.
Descended, she became acquainted and intimate with all that there is here.
And now it is difficult to separate and leave.”
From an Arabic poet Ibn Sina

There is a prayer of christ in the Koran
Blessed be me
And God made me the blessed one
Wherever I am
And not a defiant tyrant
Peace be on me on the day I am born and on the day I die
And on the day I resurrect.

In beauty I walk
With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk
It has become beauty again
Today I will walk out, today everything negative will leave me
I will be as I was before, I will have a cool breeze over my body.
I will have a light body, I will be happy forever, nothing will hinder me.
I walk with beauty before me. I walk with beauty behind me.
I walk with beauty below me. I walk with beauty above me.
I walk with beauty around me. My words will be beautiful.
In beauty all day long may I walk.
Through the returning seasons, may I walk.
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk.
With dew about my feet, may I walk.
With beauty before me may I walk.
With beauty behind me may I walk.
With beauty below me may I walk.
With beauty above me may I walk.
With beauty all around me may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk.
My words will be beautiful…

Your body is a divine stream
As is your spirit
When your two great rivers merge, one voice is found
And the earth applauds
In excitement
Shrines are erected to those songs
The hand and the heart have sung
As they served
The world
With a love, a love
We cherish

Peace
Quiet yourself
Reach out with your mind’s skilful hand.
Let it go inside of me
And touch
God.
Don’t be shy , dear
Every aspect of Light we are meant
To know
The calm hand holds more
Than baskets of good
From the market
The calm soul knows more
That anything this world
Can offer from her
Beautiful
Womb.

Forget the world, and so
command the world.
Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder.
Help someone`s soul heal.
Walk out of your house like a shepherd.
Stay in the spiritual fire.
Let it cook you.
Be well-baked loaf
and lord of the table.
Come and be served
to your brothers.
You have been a source of pain.
Now you`ll be the delight.

“May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.”

And let it breath....

Anyone who genuinely and constantly with both hands
looks for something, will find it.
Though you are lame and bent over, keep moving
toward the Friend. With speech, with silence,
with sniffling about, stay on the track.
Whenever some kindness comes to you, turn
that way, toward the source of kindness.
Love-things originate in the ocean.
Restlessness leads to rest.

Shape shifting
How beautiful it is to migrate away from a former land every day!
How lovely it is to perch on a different branch every day!
How nice it is to keep flowing uncontaminated, unfrozen!
All the words of yesterday vanished with the passing day, o my soul!
Now it is time to tell something new and fresh..

May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where
you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that
are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you
have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be
content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into
your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and
love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
St Theresa of Avila

We are the mirror as well as the face in it.
We are tasting the taste this minute
Of eternity. We are pain
And what cures pain, both.
We are the sweet cold water
And the jar that pours

Love ,
I am one with all things-
in beauty, in ugliness,
for whatsoever is-
there I am.
Not only in virtue
but in sin too I am a partner,
Not only in heaven
but hell too is mine.
Buddha, Jesus, Loa Tzu -
it is easy to be their heir,
but Genghis, Taimur and Hitler?
There are also within me!
No, not half- I am the whole of mankind!
Whatsoever is man's is mine -
flowers and thorns,
darkness as well as light,
and if nectar is mine, whose is poison?
nectar and poison - both are mine.
Whoever experiences this
I call religious,
for only the anguish of such experience
can revolutionise life on earth.

“I have come to drag you out of your self
And take you in my heart.
I have come to bring out the beauty
You never know you had
And lift you like a prayer to the sky.
If no one can recognise you, I do
Because you are my life and soul.
Don't run away, accept your wounds and
Let bravery be you shield.
It takes a thousand stages for
For the perfect being to evolve.
Every step of the way I will walk with you
And never leave you stranded.
Be patient, do not open the lid too soon
Simmer away until you are ready.
In this game I make the rules.
I roll you like a ball and chase you
When I choose”.

Become the treasury
A certain kind said to a shaikh,
“if you would like some of the riches I have, just ask”
“Your royal Highness,” he answered,
“Aren’t you ashamed to say that to me?
I have two ugly slaves, and you are under their power”
“Who are they?” said the king,
“There must be some mistake.”
The shaikh replied: “One is anger and the other is lust.”
A true king is unconcerned with kingship;
He is someone whose light, without moon or sun,
Shines forth from itself.
Only one whose essence is a treasure
Can offer gifts from the treasury.

You have not danced so badly, my dear,
Trying to hold hands with the Beautiful One.
You have waltzed with great style,
My sweet, crushed angel,
To have ever neared God’s heart at all.
Our partner is notoriously difficult to follow,
And even His best musicians
are not always easy to hear.
So what
If the music has stopped for a while.
So what
If the price of admission to the Divine
Is out of reach tonight.
So what, my dear,
If you do not have the ante to gamble for the Real Love.
The mind and the body are famous,
For holding the heart ransom,
But Hafiz knows the Beloved’s eternal habits.
Have patience,
For He will not be able to resist your longing
For long.
You have not danced so badly, my dear,
Trying to kiss the Beautiful One.
You have actually waltzed with tremendous style,
O my sweet,
O my sweet crushed angel.
